Steering Committee members, such as the Centre for Effective Practice, have utilized POCKET members for a variety of initiatives.
Examples of this include:
-
Cancer Care Ontario and Ministry of Health and Long Term Care ColonCancerCheck
POCKET members were asked to provide feedback and comments (clinical content, utility and layout) on a clinical support toolkit aimed providing a succinct description of the evidence for colorectal cancer screening. - Ministry of Health and Long Term Care 2008 - 2009 Influenza Initiative
A survey was sent to all POCKET members along with the draft clinical toolkit for feedback and suggestions. The questions focused on the content and design of the toolkit and how applicable it was to their practice. POCKET members also participated in the dissemination of the clinical tools. All members were sent copies of the toolkit and asked to distribute to their colleagues. They were also sent a copy of the curriculum (e.g. slide deck, facilitators’ notes) developed for this initiative and encouraged to utilize during teaching opportunities (e.g. grand rounds, Family Medicine resident sessions).
- Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion Influenza Pandemic Readiness & Responsiveness Professional Development and Engagement Plan for Primary Care Providers
Correspondence was sent to all POCKET members along with the MOHLTC ambulatory guidelines for pandemic preparedness. The purpose was to obtain feedback with regards to the content, prioritization, and design of the CEP summary. POCKET members were asked to:
• Determine what essential information needed to be included the tool;
• Identify any gaps or unanswered questions in the MOHLTC ambulatory guidelines that needed to be addressed; and,
• Provide guidance regarding the layout of the tool (placement of information, number of pages, etc.).
